Summary
Works in alignment with the Surgical Services director and assumes responsibility and accountability in the absence of the Surgical Services director for the 24-hour management of all Surgical Services departments typically including Pre-op, PAT, OR, PACU, Anesthesia, Endo, SPD, OR supply management, advance imaging and administrative tasks are handled in a timely manner and with precision. May lead interdisciplinary teams on various initiatives.
Education Requirements:
- BSN is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of acute care surgical services leadership/charge experience required.
Skills:
- Capable of exhibiting strong leadership presence throughout the organization related to all initiatives. Possesses ability to look beyond scope of individual responsibility to act as stewards of UHS’s resources.
- Detailed clinical and operations experience.
- Demonstrated teamwork, written and verbal communication, and analytical skills.
- Computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Knowledge of MS Project and Access recommended.
License / Certification:
- CNOR preferred.
- Six Sigma credentials preferred.
