Alan B. Miller Medical Center is set to open in Spring 2026 as a state-of-the-art neighborhood hospital, joining UHS’ expanding regional network of healthcare operations. This new facility will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building, and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase, the campus will encompass 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. Our comprehensive medical services will include Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular, and Neurosurgical services. The campus will also house medical office buildings providing outpatient services.
We Are Looking For:
An experienced Human Resources Generalist to be an integral part of our new hospital opening from the ground up!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a broad range of HR support to facility managers and employees.
- Support HR Operations and hospital leadership in policy and procedure interpretation, performance management, systems administration, employee engagement, new employee orientation, record keeping/compliance for employee files, and responding to questions.
- Work on key department projects and handle employee relations investigations under the direction of the facility Human Resources Director.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Director to develop policies, procedures, and programs to meet the organization's HR needs.
- Assist and coordinate the hospital’s problem-solving/grievance processes as an advisor to all parties during various levels of the process; advise managers/supervisors on the appropriate use of discipline and action plan development.
- Maintain a comprehensive employee record-keeping system in compliance with TJC, Federal, and State regulations, ensuring effective retrieval.
- Present HR-related subject material at new hire orientation for new staff.
- Support department recruitment activities, including sourcing, interviewing, extending offers, onboarding, and coordinating the internal transfer process.

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required.
- HR (SPHR, HRCI) certification desired.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a Human Resources senior or lead role required. Experience in a healthcare setting(acute, physician office, post acute, etc.) Prior labor relations experience preferred.
- Experience with HR standards and guidelines for (not an all-inclusive list) Joint Commission, Wage & Hour, ADA, FMLA, Employment Laws, Civil Rights, and HR policies and procedures and handbook.
- Strong HR generalist skills, including experience in recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and employment law.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state Employment Laws. HR knowledge of leaves of absences, FMLA, Worker's compensation.
- HRIS experience required; Performance Management and Applicant Tracking systems experience desired.

- Responsive in addressing issues and completing projects that require timely management/oversight.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, performance management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Strong customer relations/customer complaint resolution skills required.
- Must maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office, HRIS, ATS, LMS and use of various computer.
