Summary:
ADT is seeking a Product Owner to drive the day-to-day execution and delivery of our Monitoring platform, which enables real-time response to burglar, fire, panic, and other critical alarms. This role is responsible for translating product roadmap priorities into actionable engineering work, ensuring requirements are clear, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that protect customers and property when every second counts.
The Product Owner will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders to bring clarity to requirements, manage backlog priorities, and remove delivery blockers. This role is critical to maintaining development velocity and ensuring platform enhancements are delivered efficiently and aligned with operational objectives and customer needs.
This role sits at the center of execution for ADT’s Monitoring platform, ensuring that strategy translates into real, usable, and impactful product capabilities. The Product Owner plays a critical role in enabling engineering teams to move quickly, stay aligned, and deliver solutions that directly improve customer safety and the organization's operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Execution & Delivery
Drive day-to-day execution of monitoring platform initiatives, ensuring roadmap priorities are translated into actionable and deliverable work.
Partner with engineering teams to deliver high-quality enhancements on time, focusing on reliability, usability, and operational impact.
Track progress against commitments and proactively address risks or delays to maintain delivery momentum.
Ensure alignment between delivered capabilities and defined business and operational outcomes.
Backlog Management & Prioritization
Own and maintain a well-defined, prioritized product backlog aligned to roadmap objectives.
Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning preparation, and story refinement sessions.
Break down features into clear user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and success conditions.
Balance roadmap-driven work with urgent operational needs and technical dependencies.
Requirements & Business Clarity
Translate business needs, operational processes, and stakeholder inputs into clear and actionable product requirements.
Provide continuous clarification to engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Define workflows, edge cases, and acceptance criteria to ensure solutions meet user and operational expectations.
Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope and expected outcomes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Customer Experience, and Analytics teams to ensure shared understanding of priorities and deliverables.
Serve as the primary point of contact for requirement clarification and execution-related questions.
Identify dependencies and coordinate across teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs effectively to stakeholders.
Blocker Resolution & Delivery Enablement
Proactively identify and remove roadblocks impacting team progress.
Facilitate quick decision-making by connecting the right stakeholders and escalating when needed.
Manage dependencies across teams, systems, and external partners to minimize delivery friction.
Improve team efficiency by driving clarity and reducing ambiguity.
Release Support & Continuous Improvement
Support release planning and ensure features meet readiness criteria prior to deployment.
Partner with QA and engineering teams to validate delivered functionality against requirements.
Assist in issue triage, prioritization, and resolution during and after releases.
Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, backlog health, and team effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Management, or similar delivery-focused role.
Strong experience working in agile environments with engineering teams.
Proven ability to manage product backlogs, write user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
Demonstrated success translating business requirements into deliverable product outcomes.
Experience identifying and resolving blockers and managing dependencies across teams. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments with competing demands.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail with a focus on clarity, quality, and execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional Experience
Experience with platform or infrastructure-oriented products.
Background in SaaS, consumer technology, or subscription-based services.
Experience with call center platforms, alarm monitoring systems, or incident management tools.
Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven systems.
Experience supporting workflow automation and operational tooling.
Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional delivery environments.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Professional certifications in Agile, Scrum, or Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, ICP-APO) highly desirable.
Additional coursework or training in SaaS, platform/infrastructure products, alarm monitoring systems, or incident management tools is advantageous.
