IT Specialist - Life Safety

Summary:

This position is responsible for Performs preventive maintenance, updates, software releases, troubleshooting, and support of the Life Safety servers and software including all peripheral equipment including storage arrays and VMware environments. Assisting internal customers with monitoring application related issues. Knowledge unique to the Alarm industry and Alarm monitoring environments is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Proactively monitor, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software applications within the Life Safety system domain. Insuring 100% uptime of our life Safety environments.

• Research, test, and install updates to hardware and software. Resolve issues from monitoring of Life Safety systems.
• Research, diagnose, and resolve and issues within the Life Safety domain using written procedures and knowledge of the systems. Resolve end user and software/hardware problems utilizing email notifications and the remedy ticket system 24/7/365.
• Maintain knowledge database to enhance the quality of problem resolution within the team. Remedy and SharePoint documentation used for standardization of resolution.
• Assist outside IT team to ensure stable environment within ADT and the Mastermind Domain. Research, test, and implement changes within the network, TCOM, AD, Citrix systems.
• Support testing and refresh development environments along with Citrix publishing builds for testing.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or similar technical field of study or 1-3 years of alarm industry technical experience.

Additional Skills and Certifications:

• Preferred: Alarm industry knowledge of signaling and/or programming, strong troubleshooting skills, Windows server support, SQL database, networking, Citrix, Dell utilities, VMware, Data domain, PowerShell, Microsoft suite.
